For the first time ever, the Otters will be hosting a 5-v-5 Tournament in conjunction with the Blue Plum Festival on the 8th of June. The tournament will be held at Civitan Park before the Otters home game that night against the NC Fusion U-23s at Kermit-Tipton Stadium.
There will be different age groups for the tournament, ranging from youth U-10 all the way up to an adult open division. The open division features a $750 cash prize for the winning team! Teams may have seven people on their roster for the day. All team members will receive a t-shirt and a ticket to the Otters home game that night. Champions will be recognized on the field at halftime!
The cost to register is $175 per team. Registration is now open and can be done HERE. Registration will close on June 1st. A schedule of playing times will be released closer to the event once teams have been finalized.
The Blue Plum Festival returns to downtown Johnson City on June 7th and 8th and will be showcasing more than a dozen talented artists and bands, as well as arts, crafts, food and exciting activities. New to the festival this year will be some exciting interactive experiences located along with the kids’ zone on the lawn of Founders Park.
Sulphur Springs String Dippers, The Dependents, Jesse Lewis Band, Seth Thomas, Unspoken Tradition, Ed Snodderly, Empire Strikes Brass, Magnolia Boulevard, Vintage Pistols, Devon Gilfillian and the New Orleans Suspects are just a few of the many performers scheduled to appear on the festival’s two stages. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe (KDTU) will bring the weekend to a roaring close with their contagious energy and spirit on Saturday night.
The 2019 USL League Two season has begun and the Otters home opener on May 28th is getting closer!
